The Line Guard L-Bracket Kit helps to secure the Line Guard to the conductor. One L-Bracket Kit is included with the full Line Guard LG201 packages. However, if you have misplaced or damaged your original fasteners or L-Brackets, you will need to purchase an L-Bracket Kit. Without the L-Bracket Kit, the Line Guard rollers may have a tendency to slide apart due to gravity, making the Line Guard kit ineffective.

The Line Guard L-Bracket Kit includes 2 additional L-Brackets, 6 stainless-steel ties, and 2 stainless-steel conductor clamps. The L-Brackets are securely mounted on each end of the assembly using the stainless-steel ties and clamps, which helps keep the Line Guard system from sliding out of place on your powerline. Through this kit, our customers can ensure their Line Guard is securely fastened, which will help to effectively deter squirrels and reduce the chance of an animal-caused power outage.

Installation

Line Guard L-Bracket Kit Installation

For overhead power line applications, Critter Guard recommends this product be installed by qualified power line technicians. This is not absolutely required, but is good practice. It is not required to de-power the line. Assure the conductor is properly insulated and not showing signs of wear or degradation. For Substation applications, position one end of the Line Guard approximately 5 feet outside the vertical perimeter of the substation fence. For other installations, position one end of the Line Guard approximately 2 feet from the power pole or vertical structure (i.e., building). DO NOT TOUCH LIVE TERMINALS or CONDUCTORS. Wear appropriate safety gloves.

Installation defects are specifically not covered under the company warranty and are the responsibility of the installer. No consequential or incidental claims will be accepted, including claims of improper installation or damage caused by improper installation. If in doubt, contact a qualified power line technician.
