The Pole Guard Support Pack is offered when replacement mounting hardware is needed or if there is gap between the pole and the Pole Guard plate halves. This product includes four 9” zinc coated mounting nails, replacement plate clips or rivets to secure both plate halves together, additional cable ties and clamps, a 1.5” diameter flex tube, and a 38” long 1.5” diameter coupling. The 38” length is sufficient to wrap 10” to 12” diameter poles, which will fill any gap that might occur on smaller diameter power poles. We also offer separate mounting hardware (not shown) for steel or concrete power poles.
These products help the Pole Guard to remain stable and supported on power line poles. The Pole Guard Support Pack uses the mounting nails as a foundation for the Pole Guard plate halves to be secured to the nails with the cable ties or clamps in the package. The flex tube and coupling is used for resting above the plate halves to prevent a critter from squirming between the plate halves and the pole. This is especially critical if you have a smaller pole that is 11 inches diameter or less.
The replacement plate clips help keep the metal halves securely fastened together. These replacement plate clips are used in the event your original plate clips are damaged or lost during the installation process.
The Pole Guard Support Pack is designed for a Critter Guard customer who needs to replace their original mounting hardware for Pole Guard, and especially in cases where a smaller diameter pole is used.

For wooden power pole applications, Critter Guard recommends this product be installed by qualified power line technicians. This is not absolutely required but is good practice. It is not required to de-power the line. Assure the pole is in good condition. Position the Pole Guard assembly approximately 8 - 12 feet above ground level, or above the lowest point where a “critter” could jump onto the pole. Assure location and height of installation is clear of any objects a critter could use to swing from or grab (i.e., conduits, anchors, spikes).
Installation defects are specifically not covered under the company warranty and are the responsibility of the installer. The company’s liability for any damaged or defective product is limited to the value of the product sale only. No consequential or incidental claims will be accepted, including claims of improper installation or damage caused by improper installation. If in doubt, contact a qualified power line technician.
